On May 10th 2019 at approximately 1:07 AM Waterloo Police responded to a report of a male suffering from a gunshot wound at 824 W. 8TH, Street in Waterloo. Upon their arrival they found Alejandro Franco age 32 suffering from a single gunshot wound. Franco was transported to University Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment.
On Saturday, May 11th, 2019 Waterloo Police were notified by U of I Hosptitals and Clinics that Alejandro Franco had died.
An autopsy will be conducted by the Iowa State Medical Examiners Office.
The investigation into this case is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
