Searches leads to seizure of over 20lbs of Methamphetamine

Members of the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Task Force, the Iowa Division of Narcotics, and the Federal Bureau of Investigations executed several search warrants in the Waterloo area on May 29th, 2019 and May 30, 2019. As a result of these separate investigations, over 20 lbs. of methamphetamine and over $15,000.00 dollars in cash were seized.   Two individuals have been charged, with additional charges pending.

David James Wade 53, of Waterloo, Iowa was charged with Possession W/Intent to distribute over 5 grams of methamphetamine and Failure to Affix Drug Tax Stamp.

Malik Sekou Sahid Buchanan 39 of Burlington, Iowa was charged with Conspiracy to distribute over 5 grams of methamphetamine.

Investigators were assisted by the Cedar Rapids Police Department, Cedar Rapids Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms.  No further information will be released at this time.
