On Friday, June 14, 2019 at approximately 2:17 AM Waterloo Police responded to a report of an assault in the 700 block of Burbank Ave.   Upon their arrival they found a female victim suffering from multiple non-life threatening stab wounds being cared for by a resident of the neighborhood.   The victim reported that she and a male were in the vehicle when the male stabbed her.   After the victim was stabbed she exited the vehicle and the male left the area in the vehicle.   As this incident was being investigated a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle from the stabbing was located on fire in the area of Park Lane and Kimball Ave.   Waterloo Fire Rescue responded and extinguished the fire.   A sole male occupant was found deceased in the vehicle.   Due to the nature of injuries no names will be released pending positive identification of the deceased and notification of his relatives.
