On September 30th, 2019 at approximately 9:31 PM Officers were dispatched to a shots fired call ed in the 1100 block of South St. The victim reported her vehicle being shot by a suspect who fled the scene on a bicycle. A description was given and Officers assigned to the Violent Crime Apprehension Team (VCAT) along with Officers from the Patrol Division located a subject who matched the description. Officers stopped Davon Matlock, 18, on a bicycle in the area of Williston Ave and Minnesota St. Officers located ammunition on Matlock that matched a spent shell casing found at the scene of the shooting. Upon further investigation Officers located a .45 auto handgun that was used by Matlock in the shooting.
Matlock was arrested and charged with Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon (C-Felony), Reckless Use of a Firearm (Aggravated Misdemeanor), Carrying Weapons (Aggravated Misdemeanor), and Attempted Burglary 3rd Degree of a Motor Vehicle (Aggravated Misdemeanor).
