On April 12th, 2020 Officers responded to a report of shots fired with suspect information in the area of Mobile St. and Sumner St. Upon arrival Officers assigned to the Violent Crime Apprehension Team (VCAT) and Watch II Patrol located a suspect identified as Marcus Harmon-Wright, 34, of Water loo. Harmon-Wright was placed under arrest for Interference w/ Official Acts, Public Intoxication, Possession of Marijuana w/ Intent to Deliver, and Assault on a Peace Officer for spitting in an Officer's face. During the course of the investigation Officers located evidence of the shooting at Harmon-Wright's residence, 610 Sumner St. Officers secured the residence and later executed a search warrant. During the search warrant Officers located a 9mm handgun, ammunition, distribution amounts of marijuana, suspected cocaine, and large sums of US currency. Officers also located spent 9mm shell casings. It was determined Harmon-Wright fired shots during an altercation striking his own residence that was occupied. Harmon-Wright is prohibited from possessing firearms and/or ammuntion due to a previous domestic abuse conviction. Harmon-Wright was later transported to the Black Hawk County Jail and booked on the following charges:
Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon
Felon/Prohibited Person in Possession of a Firearm
Felon/Prohibited Person in Possession of Ammunition
Carrying Weapons
Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver (while in possession of a firearm and within 1,000 ft of a public school)
Drug Tax Stamp Violation
Assault on a Peace Officer
Possession of Cocaine
Public Intoxication
Interference w/ Official Acts
