On August 31, 2020 Waterloo Police were on scene of a traffic hazard in the area of West 18th and Commercial. While on scene, at about or around 8:33 PM a truck came to a stop behind the Patrol vehicle. At some point after this occurred, a motorcycle collided with the back end of the stopped truck. An Officer noticed the collision and located the male driver near the motorcycle. The male appeared to be unconscious and bleeding from the collision^. First Aid was administered and Waterloo Fire was called to the scene. The driver was transported to a local hospital by Waterloo Fire where he was being treated for his injuries. The motorcycle driver is considered to be in critical condition at this time. The occupants of the truck were unharmed. The identity of the driver is pending the notification of family. Iowa State Patrol was called in to assist with the investigation of the collision. This incident remains under investigation at this time.
