Patch

On September 5th, 2020 at approximately 2:52 PM Waterloo Police were sent to a motor vehicle accident with injuries in the alley behind the 1100 block of Logan Ave.   When Officers arrived they found Katline Woods age 28 had been struck by a vehicle resulting in serious injuries.    The vehicle that struck her had left the area.   Officers spoke with witnesses and determined that the vehicle had been driven by Marilyn Meron age 30.

Through the investigation Officers determined there was a dispute between Marilyn Meron and Katline Woods and that Marilyn Meron slapped Katline Woods.   After the assault, Woods was alongside Meron’s vehicle when Meron was leaving the area.   Meron struck Woods with the vehicle as Meron backed out of the area.

On Friday, September 11th, 2020 Officers charged Meron with Ser ious Injury by Vehicle and Assault.   Meron was turned over to the jail staff.   Woods is currently being treated by University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A Criminal Charge is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
