Update with Victim Name

On Sunday, December 27, 2020 at approximately 4:22 AM Waterloo Police and Waterloo Fire Rescue were dispatched to the area of Iowa and 4^th Street, on report of a shooting victim.   Upon their arrival they found an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.   The victim was identified as Elijah L. Hunt age 31.   Hunt was taken by ambulance to Unity Point Hospital where he died from his injuries.   The investigation into this matter is ongoing.   Waterloo Police continue to seek out, and speak with witnesses to this incident.   We are asking for anyone with information about this incident to contact the Waterloo Police at 319-291-4340 Option 3/Investigations.  

No further information will be released pending notification of relatives.
