At 5:58 AM Waterloo Police Officers responded to 414 Sunnyside Avenue on report of a shooting.   Upon arrival they found Aaliyah Lewis age 20 suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.   Lewis was taken to Unity Point (All en Hospital) for treatment for non-lifethreatening injuries.

Through the investigation Officers were able to identify and locate the suspect, Jakwone Watkins age 24, in the area and he was taken into custody.   He is charged with Carrying Weapons,  Willful Injury and Possesion of Firearm as a felon.

 

A Criminal Charge/Warrant is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
