On March 7, 2022, Waterloo Police were dispatched to Hometown Foods at 1010 Mitchell Ave. on a report of an assault.  When Officers arrived, they located a male victim later identified as 71 yrs. old Ibrahim Lagumdzic suffering from injuries do to an assault.  Lagumdzic was transported to a local hospital, but later died due to his injuries.  On January 3, 2024, Waterloo Detectives charged 50 yrs. old Luttreal Dwayne Allen with second-degree murder as a result of Lagumdzic’s death.  Investigation is ongoing.
