On Wednesday, July 15, 2009 around 10 am Darnell Garrette Demery was released from Allen Hospital and transported to the Black Hawk County Jail where he was booked in on the following charges:

A no bond warrant charging parole violation.
A no bond warrant charging assault on a peace officer.
A no bond warrant charging possession and control of firearms by a felon.

The latter two charges are related to the July 11, 2009 incident wherein Demery is accused of shooting at Waterloo Police officer Spencer Gann.

This is an ongoing investigation and no other information will be released at this time.  Demery's photo will not be available for release until 1pm today, July 15th.
