Waterloo Police Officers Greg Erie and Chris Gergen have been selected as Guest Instructors for the annual ILEETA (International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association) Conference. This conference brings the best Police experts in their respected fields from around the world to present classes in every aspect of law enforcement. The conference is scheduled for April in the Greater Chicago, Illinois area.

Officers Erie and Gergen will be presenting a class entitled: Control Tactics 101: Back to Basics. The class is a "hands on" defensive tactics course emphasizing the basics of controlling and handcuffing a suspect. The class will also include some ground fighting techniques and self-defense tactics.

Officers Erie and Gregen are both defensive tactics instructors for the Waterloo Police Department. Officer Gergen also had an article published in Law and Order magazine called "Are You Ready" dealing with police officer training.
