On Saturday, January 15, 2011, at approximately 8:19 p.m., Waterloo Police Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of La Porte Road, on a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.  When officers arrived they found that the pedestrian had been walking in the roadway when he was struck by a passenger vehicle traveling northbound on La Porte Road. 

Waterloo Fire Rescue transported the pedestrian to Covenant Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. 

This incident remains under investigations and the name of the victim is not being released at this time, pending notification of family members.
