On January 31, 2011 at 3:47 AM, Waterloo Fire Rescue and Waterloo Police were sent to 2861 Logan Avenue on report of a house fire.

Investigation of the fire has lead to the arrest of Glenn Dean Jackson, age 50, of 2861 Logan Avenue, Waterloo on the charge of Arson in the First Degree. Jackson was in the house at the time of the fire and was injured. Jackson was taken to a local hospital and later transferred to the University of Iowa Hospitals for treatment of his injuries.

On February 1, 2011, Jackson was released from the hospital and taken into custody.

During the investigation, Fire Investigators located accelerants inside the residence and also on Jackson's clothing. During questioning by Police, Jackson admitted to setting the fire.

Jackson is being held on $250,000 bond.
