Waterloo Police Department announces upcoming server training for alcohol license holders and their employees.
Helping Services of Northeast Iowa, Iowa Department of Public Health, and Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) have partnered to provide an upcoming Alcohol Seller/Server Training to Alcohol License Holders and their employees. This training will be held on Thursday, March 24th 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at the Waterloo Center for the Arts at 225 Commercial Street in Waterloo in the Town Hall Room. Among topics discussed during this training will be:
- Becoming familiar with Iowa laws and regulations regarding alcohol sales
- Learning helpful hints for checking identification
- Learning how to identify valid and counterfeit IDs
- Learning how to pass compliance checks
- Learning what your rights and responsibilities are if someone presents and invalid ID
- Know how best to handle customers who have "had too much to drink"
- Have the opportunity to hear the experiences of other license holders
Members of the Waterloo Police Department will also be on hand to discuss local liquor ordinances and answer questions. There is no charge for the program, but registration is required.
Participants in the program will receive completion certificates which may help license holders to reduce costs of dram shop and liability insurance. Registration for this upcoming event can be done by e-mailing or calling:
