Waterloo Police Take Subject Into Custody Following Shooting
On Tuesday, May 10th at about 0143 hrs., Waterloo Police responded to a call of a man outside the Walnut Court Apartments, in the 300 blk. of Walnut Street, threatening a female with a piece of wood. While Officers were en route to the call, a shot was fired in the area.
Upon arrival, Officers found that a single shot was fired at the residence with a shotgun, striking the window area. Within minutes, Officers detained a subject in the area at Almond Street and Iowa Street. Officers also located the suspected weapon used in the incident.
Through the course of the investigation, Officers arrested and charged Larry Eugene Cody, age 59 of Waterloo, in connection with this incident. Cody was charged with Possession of a Firearm as a Felon, Intimidation with a Weapon, Harassment-1st Degree, Public Intoxication and Criminal Mischief-4th Degree.
