On October 12, 2011 at approximately 10:37 p.m. the Waterloo Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Washington (southbound) and Mitchell on a report of a motor vehicle accident.  On arrival to this location it was found that a truck had struck the rear of a semi trailer.

The driver of the truck was trapped inside his vehicle.  Waterloo Fire and Rescue were able to remove the driver from the vehicle.  The driver was then transported to an area hospital to be treated for his injuries.  The injuries are not considered to be life threatening at this time.

This accident remains under investigation.
