On Saturday, November 12, 2011, at approximately 5:35 AM, Waterloo Police responded to an alarm at the Red Carpet Golf Course, 1409 Newell Street, Waterloo.

When Officers arrived they found that a bench had been knocked through the clubhouse wall causing extensive damage to the building. They also found damage done by a vehicle to the golf course greens.

The follow-up investigation lead to the arrest of Timothy Joseph Schmit, age 58, of 1037 Dawson Street, Waterloo, IA. He has been charged with Criminal Mischief in the First Degree for causing damage in excess of $10,000.00. He is currently being held in the Black Hawk County Jail on $10,000.00 bond.
