The police department is in the process of identifying streetlights that are not working. Several studies have shown that adequate street lighting helps to reduce the amount of crime from occurring in certain areas. There are thousands of streetlights in the City of Waterloo. The police department plans on conducting an audit of non-working streetlights to ensure they are replaced or repaired. To assist in this endeavor, we are asking citizens to report any non-working streetlights in their neighborhoods.
