On Thursday, December 8, 2011 at approximately 10:10 PM, Waterloo Police were dispatched to 101 1/2 French Street on report of an assault. Officers met with a 37 year old female who was bleeding from a deep laceration on her right arm. Officers also found that she had been stabbed in the shoulder and thigh. The victim was transported to a local hospital. Officers recovered a knife at the residence.

The investigation lead to the arrest of Anthony Augustus Lawson, age 40, of 101 1/2 French Street, Waterloo, IA. He was charged with Willful Injury and Assault-Domestic Abuse. He is currently being held in the Black Hawk County Jail.
