Waterloo Police Investigate Shooting

On June 22, 2009 at approximately 12:53 A.M., Waterloo Police responded to the area of W. 5th and Washington Street on a report of a shooting victim at that location. Victim was located on W. 5th near the Highway 218 overpass, with a single gunshot wound to the leg. Victim and witnesses reported to police the shot was fired from a passing vehicle.

Victim was transported by Waterloo Fire Rescue to an area hospital where she was treated and released. The victim's information is not being released at this time. The incident remains under investigation.
