Waterloo Man Arrested in Connection with Jasmine Mills Death
On Thursday, December 11, 2008 around 2:45 A.M., Waterloo Police officers investigated an assault that occurred in the parking lot of the Kum & Go convenience store at 117 East San Marnan Drive. The victim, 18-year-old Jasmine Janese Mills, died as a result of this incident.
The Iowa State Medical Examiner performed an autopsy on Jasmine Mills and determined that the cause of her death was from blunt force trauma to the head.
Shean Henry Holmes, age 20, of 2906 Niles Street in Waterloo has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and burglary in the first degree in connection with this incident. Bond was set at one hundred and fifty thousand dollars. Holmes remains in custody in the Black Hawk County Jail where he has been held since December 29, 2008 on a probation violation charge.
This incident remains under investigation. No further information will be available at this time.
