Waterloo Police Investigate a Stabbing

On January 30, 2009 at 2246 hrs Waterloo Police Officers were dispatched to Covenant Medical Center in reference a male that came in to the Emergency Room with a stab wound.

Through the investigation it was determined that two (2) groups of male juveniles were in the area of the Target Store on San Marnan, when they began to engage in a physical fight. During the fight one male suspect picked up a knife and stabbed the other male victim in the stomach area.

The male victim went to Covenant Medical Center on his own and was taken to surgery shortly after arrival with a non life threatening injury to his stomach. Victim male age 17 was admitted to Covenant Medical Center.

The suspect male is Dreyon Grant age 15 he turned himself in to police about an hour after the incident. The Grant was charged with Willful Injury C-Felony and taken to Detention.

Victims name is not being released at this time.
