Waterloo Police Investigate Robberies

On January 5, 2009 at approximately 9:23 P.M., Waterloo Police Officers responded to a report of a robbery that had just ocurred in the 100 block of Quincy Street. A delivery driver for East of China was sent to 121 Quincy Street for a food delivery. Once there, he was approached by two black males teenagers who denied ordering food. When he approached the house, he was struck in the head from behind. The suspects fled on foot with the food. The driver sustained a head injury and was transported to an area hospital by Waterloo Fire Department Paramedics, where he was treated and released. The residents at 121 Quincy denied ordering food from the business.

The suspects are described as black males in the middle to late teens. One was described at approximately 5'4" tall and medium build, wearing dark colored clothing.

Approximately fifty minutes later, Waterloo Police Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery that had just ocurred at the Clark Station at 1008 LaPorte Road. Three young black males entered the store and one produced a handgun and demanded money. During the robbery, the clerk was struck on the head with the handgun. The suspects then fled the store on foot with numerous packs of cigars, two cellular phones and an undisclosed amount of cash. Officers located clothing and one of the two cellular phones several blocks away on Wisconsin Street.

The suspects were described as young black males. One described as approximately 5'3" tall, a second as 5'9" tall and the third as 6'1" to 6'3" and slender. All three were reportedly wearing black zip-up hoodies and a dark spandex type face mask.

The clerk did not require medical treatment and both incidents remain under investigation.
