Waterloo Police Chief Announces Promotions
Waterloo Police Department Chief of Police Thomas J. Jennings recently promoted two Waterloo Police officers.
Investigator Matthew McGeough, age 29, with 6-years of service, has been promoted to sergeant. Sergeant McGeough has been assigned to the Watch III Patrol Division. Sergeant McGeough's previous assignments include Investigator with the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Task Force, a patrol officer with the Department's Citizen Response Unit, a Field Training Officer and Patrol Officer. Sergeant McGeough is also a current member of the Department's Tactical Unit. Sergeant McGeough is a graduate of the Cedar Rapids Police Academy and he has a Bachelors Degree from the University of Iowa.
Investigator Richard Gehrke, age 36, with 12-years of service, has been promoted to sergeant. Sergeant Gehrke has been assigned to the Watch III Patrol Division. Sergeant Gehrke's previous assignments include Investigator with the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Task Force, Patrol Officer, a patrol officer with the Department's Drug Crime Unit and a Crime Scene Investigator. Sergeant Gehrke is also a current member of the Department's Tactical Unit. Sergeant Gehrke is a graduate of the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy and he has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Northern Iowa.
