Waterloo Police Investigate Additional Robberies, Asks For Public's Assistance

On Monday, August 24, 2009 shortly before 11 pm, Waterloo Police officers responded to the 5 Star Snacks and More convenience store at 437 Sullivan Avenue on a report of a robbery that had just occurred.

A white male in his thirties entered the store with his hand in his jacket pocket, indicating that he had a gun.  The suspected demanded money and the clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspect then left the store and has not been located.  No one was injured in this incident.

On Tuesday, August 25, 2009 shortly after 5 am, Waterloo Police officers responded to the Perkins Restaurant at 3280 University Avenue on a report of a robbery that had just occurred.  A white male in his thirties entered the business and approached the clerk, demanding money.  The suspect did not display nor indicate that he had a weapon.  After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash the suspect left the restaurant and was last seen walking in a westerly direction from the business.  The suspect may have left the area in a small red 2-door vehicle.  No one was injured during this incident.

Investigators obtained a photo of the suspect from the 5 Star Snacks and More robbery and are asking for the public's assistance in identifying him.  The suspect is described as a white male in his thirties, approximately 6 feet tall and approximately 200 pounds with a goatee.  See attached photo.
