Waterloo Police Seek Public's Assistance In Locating Shooting Suspect
On Monday, July 13, 2009 around 6:15 pm Waterloo Police responded to the area of the 900 block of West 3rd Street on a report of a shooting that had just occurred.
The victims in this incident, all from Waterloo, were identified as 16-year-old Edward Degraffinreed, 17-year-old Damarrius Darrell Todd and 25-year-old Trevell McCoy.
Degraffinreed remains hospitalized at Covenant Medical Center in guarded condition.
Investigators have identified the suspect in this incident as 17-year-old Darius Traemone Caston of Waterloo. Caston is a black male, 5 feet 11 inches and 185 pounds. Warrants have been issued for Caston's arrest charging him with the following offenses:
Three counts of willful injury.
Three counts of intimidation with a dangerous weapon.
Three counts of going armed with intent.
Total bond on the warrants is one million, three hundred and fifty thousand dollars.
The Waterloo Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating Darius Caston. Anyone with information concerning his whereabouts is asked to call the Waterloo Police Department at 319-291-4333, option number 2.
