Waterloo Police Charge Two With Burglary

On Thursday, July 1, 2010 just before 9 am, Waterloo Police responded to a call of two suspicious people in an alley in the 800 block of Bayard Street.  One suspect was reported to be carrying a bag and the second suspect was reported to be carrying a gun case.

 The responding Officers located the suspects in the area and they were stopped for questioning.  While checking the area it was determined that a burglary had occurred at 816 Bayard Street.  During the investigation several items were recovered that had been stolen from the residence.

 As a result of the investigation 19-year-old Martavis Tayshon Wise of Waterloo and 17-year-old John Joe Barbee also of Waterloo were charged with 2nd Degree Burglary.  Their bond was set at one hundred thousand dollars each.

 This is an ongoing investigation. No further information will be released at this time and we are not releasing photos of the supects.
