Waterloo Police Chief Announces Promotion

Waterloo Police Department Chief of Police Thomas J. Jennings is pleased to announce the promotion of Sergeant David Mohlis to the rank of Lieutenant.  Lieutenant Mohlis (pronounced Mayless), age 42, with 17-years of service, has been assigned as the Watch Commander of the Watch II Patrol Division.

Lieutenant Mohlis' previous assignments include supervisor of Investigations, Patrol and Public Resource office, Crime Lab Investigator, Motorcycle Unit officer, Field Training officer and supervisor and Crime Scene Investigator.  Lieutenant Mohlis is a graduate of the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy.  He also has an Associate of Arts Degree in Police Science from Hawkeye Community College and a Bachelors Degree from Upper Iowa University.
